Marie Yoder
Marie supports the Transition Specialists, Emily Kull and Ryan Deason in a variety of ways, from vocational counseling to data entry for our students enrolled in STEP (Secondary Transition Experience Program). She graduated from Illinois State University, in 1992, with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Park Administration, Therapeutic Sequence. Her career has always centered around helping those who are considered "special populations", from being a Camp Counselor for Easter Seals, to the Activities Director in skilled nursing, to Program Coordinator at Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association. Eventually, She took a break to focus on being a stay-at-home mom to her three young children, Katelyn, Kyle, and Luke. After they all were settled into full-time school days, she transitioned back to full-time work, focusing her career on the vocational side of things. She started back up as a Job Coach for Occupational Development Center, became a Job Developer for United Cerebral Palsy, and then joined the Transition Services Team at ROE #17, which was just over 6 years ago. Marie lives in Normal with her husband, Ron.
