ELIS How To...

License Renewal Update (posted 3.8.21)

If your original Renewal date was 6/30/20 and was extended to 6/30/21 please read below:

Per Public Act 101-0643 (formerly known as Senate Bill 1569), all PEL, ELS-CTE, and ELS-CSBO licenses up for renewal last year were extended by one year if educators did not renew by September 1, 2020.  All eligible licenses received this automatic extension and were then required to pay a $10 registration fee for the extra year before school started last fall.

For anyone who hasn’t paid the $10 yet – as the wizards work now, you will have to pay the $10 by going through the registration wizard first.  Then you should receive the option to renew and complete the renewal wizard and pay the $50 for the next 5 years.  You will not receive the option to renew until this separate $10 registration fee is paid first.

We believe this will be a two-step-two payment process.  If the educator did pay the $10 registration fee last fall as required, then the renewal process will be the usual one-step process.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Phaedra Morris at the ROE at 309-888-5120 x1206

ELIS GLITCHES:  There is currently a glitch in the ELIS system.  If you are applying for a new license, endorsement or trying to register a new license you may "time out" of the process after the Submit Payment screen, or if you are able to complete the process you may have been charged twice. If you do not time out, please check your ELIS account after completing the steps to make sure your application/registration is showing in your ELIS account.  Please see below for steps you may need to take.

If you completed the process and the fee was withdrawn from your bank account, but it's not showing in ELIS, please email Phaedra Morris at morrisp@roe17.org.

If you completed or were timed out of the process and the fee was withdrawn once or multiple times, but it's not showing in ELIS, please email Phaedra Morris at morrisp@roe17.org and please attach a receipt confirmation and/or screen shot of your charges.

If you were timed out of the process and no fees were charged to your account, please try again later.  Make sure you are using a laptop or desktop (not a cell phone or tablet or Mac product) and use either Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser.
