Ami Flammini
Ami Flammini, LCSW, began her career as a school social worker and has more than 30 years of experience working in schools. She spent fourteen years with the Illinois/Midwest PBIS Network, partnering with districts, schools, and state boards of education to strengthen PBIS and MTSS implementation. She has been supporting schools with universal screening since 2009, helping teams use data thoughtfully to guide equitable and timely supports for students.
Her approach to coaching and technical assistance is relationship-based and grounded in meeting schools where they are, celebrating what is already in place, listening carefully, and using authenticity and a sense of humor to build trust and momentum for change. Ami specializes in high school implementation, including co-facilitating the free monthly national high school PBIS calls, as well as advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 systems and interventions.
Earlier in her career, Ami owned and operated a yoga studio, taught yoga, and maintained a private therapy practice focused primarily on supporting adolescent girls—experiences that continue to inform her work in promoting wellness, resilience, and strong relationships in school communities. She also has extensive experience working on multiple federally and state-funded grants focused on student mental health, equity, and integrated systems of care.
Ami lives in Springfield, Illinois, with her husband of 31 years and their two dogs.
