Truancy/Homeless Outreach and Referral
The truancy program is an ongoing program to assist schools within our serving region in assisting and promoting student attendance. The DeWitt, Livingston, Logan, & McLean County truancy outreach specialists work aggressively with schools and parents to intervene early and resolve school attendance issues. Our emphasis is on unexcused absences, excessive total absences, and tardiness, as it interferes with the learning process of the student. Partnerships among the Regional Office of Education #17, the State’s Attorney’s Office, Court Services, and Social Agencies serve the communities in the resolution of school attendance issues on a case-by-case basis.
