Kevin Jones
Kevin Jones has spent more than 35 years working in the fields of social services, mental health, and alternative education, with an emphasis on working with at-risk youth and their families as a practitioner and administrator. He has been professionally trained in several behavior management strategies, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Restorative Practices. He serves on the boards of The United Way-Community Engagement, Project OZ, and Illinois Balanced Restorative Justice Project (IBRJ). Mr. Jones also worked for The Baby Fold as a Respite Camp Supervisor providing services and support for traumatized children ages 5 to 16. He provides restorative practices training and support for schools and organizations, primarily through his work for the Regional Office of Education #17. Kevin earned his MS in Restorative Practices through the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) in 2017. Training, coaching, and educating schools, agencies, and businesses across the country as well as internationally quickly became his passion. Working closely with IIRP, he now teaches RP graduate courses as well. Kevin is progressive with the country's “new normal” of virtual/remote learning continuing his work with Restorative Practices and adding resources on a continuing basis. He facilitates online listening circles and has reformatted his work for interactive ZOOM sessions.
